According to a study by the Italian Centro Studi Internazionali, a third of the articles published online about Lithuania at that time came from Saudi Arabia - just seven percent came from Lithuania itself. On social media, an army of Saudi and Emirati bots are trying to influence the narrative in Arabic - and now increasingly in English and French. Last year, Facebook and Twitter blocked tens of thousands of Saudi and Emirati accounts because of this. "If you search for articles about Lithuania on Google today, you will always find one from Saudi Arabia on the first page," says Megerisi.
